Imprimi.do is getting ready: I'm not taking orders yet. Opening very soon.

About Us

I'm Nelson Almeida. Imprimi.do is my custom 3D design and printing workshop in Santo Domingo Este.

I model parts. That's the job. Printing is the final step — the one people see — but what solves the problem is the design: understanding what the part has to do, how it will be assembled and what load it will have to take.

You don't need to bring me a file

Most people who write to me don't have a 3D file, and that's fine. I can start with any of these:

  • The broken part, even if it's in pieces
  • A photo, with something next to it for scale
  • A measurement, or a hand-drawn sketch
  • An idea, explained in words

From that I design the part from scratch, or copy the one that broke. It isn't a separate service or an extra: it's the main part of the work.

And if you already have the file, even better — I check it, tell you whether it will print well, and we go from there.

I come from mould-making

I worked in moulds, and that changes how I look at a part.

A mould is unforgiving: if the wall is thin it warps, if the angle is wrong the part won't come out, if the load falls in the wrong place it breaks there. That way of looking at things is what I bring to 3D.

That's why, when you send me a part, I don't just print it. I tell you whether it will break, and where. Often the original part broke because it was badly designed at the factory — and remaking it the same way just repeats the problem. It can be reinforced, made in a different material, or given a different geometry so that it holds.

What I do

3D design and modelling — parts from scratch, copies of existing parts, reverse engineering, and fixing files that don't print well.

Custom 3D printing — in PLA, PETG, ABS and resin, depending on what the part has to withstand.

Spare parts you can no longer find. This is the most common case: something broke, the brand no longer makes it, and the alternative is throwing away the whole appliance.

How I work

No obligation. Asking for a quote is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

I give you a straight quote. If your part isn't feasible, or is going to be expensive for what you need, I'd rather tell you straight away.

I tell you what I think of the part. If I see it's going to fail, I say so before printing, not after.

On the other end, it's me. No form that gets lost, no automatic reply.

What I tell you before you ask

A 3D-printed part has layer lines and support marks. It doesn't look like a render or an injection-moulded part. For almost every use that doesn't matter — but I'd rather you knew beforehand.

And there are things I don't print: weapons or their parts, copies of keys and credentials, and parts for medical or structural use where a failure could hurt someone. It's in the Terms, and it's not negotiable.

Where I am

Santo Domingo Este, and I deliver in person within 50 km — including the Distrito Nacional and much of Greater Santo Domingo.

Let's talk

Tell me what you need. A photo of the broken part is enough to get started.
